Position Overview

The Foreign Trainer will instruct children aged 2-12 at Disney English Language Learning Centers in China during a 12 to 15-month contract. Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree from a four year institution (3 year institution for United Kingdom candidates)
• Native English Speaker
• 24 months of recent, post-Bachelors work experience teaching/working with students/children in an educational, recreational, athletic or camp setting with a minimum12 months consecutive employment
• A passion for children and their development
• Ability to command the attention of large groups of children in an engaging manner

The Disney Approach – Immersive Storytelling
With the culmination of over 70 years of published language learning materials, Disney has perfected an approach designed to appeal to a range of different learning styles. Teachers incorporate role plays, songs, movement, games and storytelling with the latest educational technology to fully engage students in a memorable and effective learning experience.

Courses
Course material features Disney characters throughout and places an emphasis on natural English communication. It is backed up with an amazing array of supplementary materials to really bring the class to life, from flashcards, an entire room full of realia, song CDs, games, digital material, toys and a comprehensive teacher’s guide.

Each classroom is fitted with an interactive white board & digital presentation wall which is packed full of animated teaching material helping to further enrich the student-centered learning environment.

The Schools
Entering a Disney school is like walking into a mini-Disneyland, students are surrounded by all their favourite Disney characters and locations. Each classroom is based on the theme of a Disney story – imagine flying around Andy’s bedroom with Buzz Lightyear, swimming the oceans with Nemo and exploring the jungles with Simba.

Locations
Disney currently has schools in 7 major cities in China with ambitious plans to expand into more in the near future. Immerse yourself in the rich Chinese culture at one of the cosmopolitan cities listed below. More information on each city will be provided when we receive your application.

Main responsibilities
-Deliver Disney English interactive content – maximum 24 hours teaching per week
-Make use of our online parent portal
-Use printed materials, multimedia and a variety of audio-visual aids
-Work with local Assistant Trainers to ensure classes are run efficiently
-Prepare lessons, realia, print materials, technology and supplemental materials
-Attend weekly meetings to communicate all pertinent student and classroom management issues
-Participate in outside of classroom academic, marketing and school social events as needed
-Collect audio & visual portfolio evidence of language learner work during lessons
-Deliver both formal and informal assessments and progress reports throughout the program
-Interact with both parents and young language learners in a way that makes language learning fun, engaging and educational

Compensation
-Excellent salary: 10,500 RMB per month (Full Time Trainer)
-Excellent salary: 12,500 RMB per month (Senior Trainer)
-Housing allowance: 3,000 – 4,350 RMB per month (depending on location)
-Airfare: Disney pays for your flight to China in full and up front and will reimburse up to $700 USD for your return flight once your contract is complete
-Training Bonus: 7,000 RMB on arrival
-Legal ‘Z’ work visa
-11 days public holidays + 5 days extra holiday
-Airport pickup
-Free hotel provided for up to 3 weeks while you search for an apartment
-Initial 1 week training course as well as on-going professional development
-Health/Dental Insurance
-TEFL-C certification
-Free Mandarin course by ‘Rosetta Stone’

Requirements
-Bachelor’s degree
-TEFL certificate
-Minimum of 2 years experience teaching children
-Native English speaker from UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa
-Creative, energetic and out-going personality, talents in art, music & performing arts preferred
-Commitment to a minimum 12 month contract
-Must be able to lift 50 pounds as required
