The job

EF English First, Zhangjiagang is now accepting applications from qualified English teachers looking to expand their horizons and teach at a leading language school in China. If you strive for excellence and enjoy delivering engaging English classes then you will fit right in. Our high academic standards, plentiful resources and outstanding staff are what make us the leading school in the city.

Our school first opened its doors in 2002 and ever since has grown from strength to strength. We started off with 4 foreign teachers and 9 local staff, now with a total staff of almost 40. We were one of the first English First schools to open in China. With the backing of over 40 years of experience and support from its parent company it’s no wonder English First Zhangjiagang continues to be seen as the number one place for language learning in the city of Zhangjiagang. We have a dedication to the highest academic quality achieved through on-going teacher training.

At the EF National Conference in 2009 we won the award for best growth. We’ve recently moved to a new state-of the art multimedia school, with touch screen interactive whiteboards in every classroom, a “cookery-classroom,” as well as EF’s Life Club Zone, which has a newly designed stage and Dance Dance Revolution style mats.

Changzhou International School is located in the north of Changzhou, a city famous for its history of 2,500 years. It is a state-owned pilot middle school and is under the joint management of Changzhou New District Government and Changzhou Education Bureau. With an investment of 190 million yuan, the school covers an area of 126,000 square meters, of which the architectural area makes up 70,000 square meters. There are more than 230 oversea students.

The school offers world-class facilities for the overall development of its students. Over the past ten years, guided by modern educational concepts, the school has formulated a curriculum parallel to that of quality educational systems around the world. Besides fulfilling the teaching plan assigned by the state, the school places great emphasis on researching the front subjects related to elementary education such as small-sized classes, bilingual teaching, streaming, research-style study, and international courses. By carrying out quality-oriented education, the school gives every student an opportunity to develop both personally and intellectually. Besides, we offer English, Chinese and Bilingual Courses to International students.

In recent years, the student scores have ranked first in the university and college entrance examinations. Every single one of the school’s graduates has entered a university or college.
