SAGE is an English institute designed to help students prepare for and succeed in university, career and in life. Students in the program commit themselves to improvement and preparation for college and beyond. We offer a rigorous program of instruction in academic “survival skills”, English language learning, test prep, college level entry skills, and life skills (such as financial planning). The English Institute also teaches the student how to study and test, take notes, plan for college and manage time.
Internship can turn into a full time paid position based on performance.
Responsibilities
• Can work at the academy or remotely for 30 hours/week
• Create, strategize and execute all logistics and operations for a specific project (in media) assigned to you. The project is based on your language skills and abilities.
• Create curriculum for classes, syllabi, and teaching materials; select class materials and grade assignments.
• Manage social media platforms, such as Weibo and Tumblr
• Use Weebly to maintain the company’s website. No web-building experience needed.
• Design marketing materials such as presentations, flyers, business cards, and more
• Manage our newsletter and listserv
• Arrange educational and career field trips
• Organize and prepare curricula for future classes
• Promote company’s services and programs in events
• Assist higher management and teachers
• Case by case projects may be required to support company’s goals
• Communicate via phone/email with the executive directors and managers to understand and deliver on internal business requirements
• Attend company training and occasional staff meetings
• Set up meetings and other events. Take notes during meetings and more.
Qualifications:
• Exceptional e-marketing, creative writing, web usability, internet research and communication skills
• Able to navigate and use different social media platforms, such as Weibo and Tumblr
• Able to or be willing to learn how to use easy website building tools, such as Weebly at weebly.com
• Have a keen eye for design and usability
• Proficient with computer applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Must be able to work independently and complete tasks effectively and on time
• Must be reliable, effective, efficient and quick at responding inquiries and emails
• Must be able to work independently as well as within a team
• Must be fluent in English. Fluency in Mandarin or Korean is a plus.
• Must be interested in higher education
