a) Job Details:

The Quality Inspector will be responsible for conducting quality control (QC) inspections/verifications, quality control metrics, production monitoring, and testing on manufacturing supplies, in-process materials, and finished products. This also includes the checking of information for the products, shipping marks, etc. The QC Inspector shall comply with AQL standards, and other applicable requirements and regulations.

b) Requirements:

– A minimum of 2 years working experience in inspecting textiles, garments and fabrics.

– Studies: Bachelor Degree and graduate with Textile Background.

– Computer Skills: Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Pdf.

– Good Working knowledge of Quality Systems and ISO standards is a plus.

c) Abilities:

– Proactive & Dynamic.

– Organized.

– Honest & Responsible.

– Excellent interpersonal skills.

– Analytical Skills.

– Punctual and hard working.

– Work under pressure.

– Willing to travel (within China).

d) Languages:

– English CET-4 (written and spoken).

e) Responsibilities:

– Perform Inspections/QC testing/verifications of productions, in-process materials and finished products as required.

– Draft reports for any inspection performed.

– The Q.C. will be able to identify new inspection procedures and methods that can be used in our daily work in order to improve it and also any other duties or responsibilities necessary.

– He or She Reports to the Quality Control Supervisor or Team leader.

We are looking for a QC & Manufacturing Partner Manager based in Shanghi. You will be responsible for the co-ordination and management of head office strategies to ensure standards are met within the Supply chain and assisting in manufacturing partner management through Quality Control and Product Development.
Your objectives will be:
•To manage all Quality Control functions in China, ensuring all stock is manufactured to agreed standards and every consignment is checked by the team for quality and delivery as per the specification sheet. To ensure shortcomings in quality standards are dealt with promptly and effectively.
•Work closely with the UK QC Manager to determine and deliver the ongoing staffing requirements of the QC team in line with the business plan. Manage the 3rd Party QC teams on a day to day basis.
•Assist with product sourcing and product development in conjunction with the UK Head office team.
•Identify new suppliers for Neptune products where required – meeting company standards of quality, material, capacity, price, ethics and delivery.
•Carry out ethical and quality audits on any new potential manufacturing partners.
•Work closely with manufacturing partners to establish and maintain service levels in terms of standards of quality, capacity, price, ethics and delivery, taking remedial action as appropriate.
•Visit manufacturing partners when required to investigate delivery schedule issues.
•Manage all OTIF targets i.e. 90% on time shipments.
•Work closely with the Manufacturing partner to identify opportunities to reduce MOQ and product lead-times.
•Closely monitor the product development process to ensure samples are delivered on time and to the standards required.
•Feedback to UK office all ideas/suggestions to refine designs and improve quality.

You will require the following skills and qualifications:
•Fluent English both written and verbal.
•Fluent Putonghua (Standard Mandarin).
•Degree standard of education.
•I.T. literate.
•Previous management experience within a multi site operation.
•Product development and manufacturing experience.
•Experience in sourcing and developing product in the Far East, especially mainland China.
•Experience in ethical standards.
•Experience in timber trading laws and standards.
•Experience in team management and recruitment.
•Experience in quality control.

This is a very challenging role and requires the ability to adapt in a fast moving business. The ideal candidate will be a good communicator who works well under pressure with excellent planning and organisation skills and attention to detail.
This role will be based in Shanghai.

You will be responsible for the planning, coordination and control of the manufacturing processes and will ensure that goods and services are produced efficiently, on time, at the right cost and at the right level of quality.

•To manage the full manufacturing process from start to finish.
•To liaise with Head Office on a day to day basis ensuring communication is clear and concise.

Our manufacturing partners in China provide short and long term stock for warehouses located in USA and Europe with others opening in the near future. In order to enhance our logistics, we are also fulfilling many of our larger orders direct from China. We are focused on improving our current products as well as introducing logistic options that meet the needs of our diverse customer base.

Duties
Manage Chinese vendors, including:
– Submission of Purchase Orders from USA operations to Chinese vendors
– Managing Purchase Orders with Chinese vendors to maintain quality, packaging and delivery standards
– Coordination of shipments from China throughout the world
– Tracking key fabric stocks in China
– Adjustment of key raw materials based on production needs
– Quality Control management with Chinese Vendors
– Source new vendors to meet growing production needs
– Manage cost reductions in vendor pricing, shipping and handling fees
– Support any Marketing efforts in Asia (optional)
– Possible tradeshow attendance
– Customer relations with Asian customers
– Other duties as required

Reporting Requirements
– Weekly Purchase Order status report
– Key inputs count and requirements report (Monthly)
– Weekly Report Chinese vendor open issues
– Daily interface with USA Head Office via email, SKYPE, phone

Other Position Details

This position will be paid as an independent consultant. The successful candidate will be provided with a cell phone and laptop. This position will have flexible hours and will be home based. Domestic and International travel will be required.
